WWF
WWF's MISSION The mission of WWF - the global environment network - is to stop the degradation of the planet's natural environment, and to build a future in which humans live in harmony with nature, by: conserving the world's biological diversity; ensuring that the use of renewable natural resources is sustainable; reducing pollution and wasteful consumption.
Instead of money boxes and photo frames, why not adopt an animal for your child/grandchild and renew the adoption each birthday. Makes sense!

Wings of Hope
Since 2003 Wings of Hope has been working with poor and orphaned children around the world, irrespective of their religious background, by providing them with free education. Support to orphaned and poor children is offered by providing them with a free education.
The organisation's philosophy stems from the saying
'Give a man a fish and you feed him for a day;
'teach a man to fish and you feed him for life'
Through providing a good education, the long term objective is to enable each child to develop the skills and confidence to get out of financial destitution, and to be a potential source of income for their entire family. In this way an extended family can escape the debt trap in which so many find themselves.
For Wings of Hope education is a long-term commitment and intended to be of lasting benefit to the children involved. As such the Wings of Hope scheme provides free education and support for a period of 7-10 years ensuring in the long term a secure development base for all the children Wings of Hope works with.

North Devon Hospice
North Devon Hospice was founded in 1981 by local people who identified a need to provide specialist care for people with a life-threatening illness in the North Devon and Torridgeside areas.
Our services include specialist community nursing, in-patient care, day hospice, complementary therapies and emotional and spiritual care. These are provided completely free of charge.
We specialise in the level of care that medicine alone cannot provide. By taking an holistic approach, we can offer a care package tailored to the individual needs of each patient or family member.
Cancer and other life-threatening illnesses often bring pain and other distressing symptoms. Our nurses liaise closely with doctors working out a programme of pain management and symptom control.
If you are interested in volunteering please get in touch with Barbara Andrew at the hospice on 01271 344248

RNLI
The RNLI is the charity that provides a 24-hour lifesaving service around the UK and Republic of Ireland.
Volunteer crew members readily exchange leisure, comfort and sleep for cold, wet and fatigue. Their lifesaving work is essential, often difficult and sometimes dangerous.
Last year RNLI lifeboats rescued almost 8,000 people, an average of 21 people a day.
To go on saving lives at sea means training and equipping volunteer crews. This costs money and, as a charity, the RNLI relies on your support, so please support today.

Devon Air Ambulance Trust
Almost everyone living and working in Devon will be touched at some point by the Devon Air Ambulance Trust.
They may know someone who has been airlifted to hospital - a relative, a friend, a farmer, a motorist, a horse rider, a cyclist.
Accidents happen all the time, often in remote places, hard to access. This is why Devon needs an Air Ambulance Service and why we thank you for your invaluable support.
